ALL SISU: The Quiet Power of Paweł Klamecki 🇵🇱
For Paweł Klamecki from Wrocław, Poland, cycling isn’t a hobby, a phase, or something that needs explaining. It’s simply part of life. Something you do. Something you commit to. Something you build - slowly, honestly, and without shortcuts.
A time trialist at heart, Paweł is drawn to the purity of the discipline. No hiding. No chaos. Just the rider, the bike, and the truth of the effort.
“Definitely a time trial cyclist. I like it - just me and the bike.”
From Restart to Redemption
Paweł’s cycling journey didn’t follow a straight line. He rode when he was young, stepped away from the sport for more than a decade, and returned in 2017 at a pivotal moment in his life.
At nearly 130kg, getting back on the bike became far more than a fitness goal. Through consistency and commitment, cycling helped him avoid serious health outcomes and reclaim control of his future.
There was no miracle plan. No shortcut.
“There are no shortcuts. First, a solid foundation, then a slow build. It’s worth having a realistic goal and striving for it.”
That belief now shapes not only how Paweł trains, but how he approaches life.
The Soundtrack of the Pain Cave
Paweł’s pain cave mirrors his mindset: simple, functional, and purpose-built. A Wahoo v6 paired with a Scott Addict RC, ready whenever it’s time to work.
The music is eclectic metal to pop, Marilyn Manson to Aretha Franklin. Recently, he’s found himself drawn to the voice of German singer Nena. Coffee is non negotiable: before, after, and sometimes even during the ride. Early mornings, however, are not his thing. 😉
Racing Less, Building More
While Paweł enjoys racing, especially ZRL and SISU Pinkki, the past two years have been focused on development. Zwift has been his primary arena, allowing him to train with precision while laying the groundwork for bigger goals.
Since September, that focus has sharpened even further, with training centered on the Polish Individual Time Trial Championships in June. Racing took a back seat, but motivation never faded.
This season marks a return to more outdoor riding, renewed racing energy, and riding with purpose.
SISU Changed More Than His Legs
Paweł is open about something else that changed along the way.
By nature, he’s an introvert. Before joining SISU Racing almost two years ago, he was very reluctant to make new friends. Social circles were small. New connections were rare.
SISU changed that.
Within the team, Paweł found an environment built on shared effort, respect, and commitment - not noise. Slowly, naturally, he opened up. He began enjoying conversations, laughing in Discord, and looking forward to seeing familiar names line up on the start line.
He’s still selective. He still keeps his social world mostly within SISU.
But he likes the person he’s become.
“I really like how I’ve changed during my time with SISU.”
It’s a reminder that progress isn’t always measured in watts.
A Team Before Results
When Paweł talks about SISU Racing, he doesn’t talk about podiums.
He talks about people.
He watches his teammates. He supports them. He tries to keep them motivated. Results are secondary to commitment, effort, and fighting for each other.
“We’re a team. We win and lose together. I don’t expect results, just commitment.”
He draws energy from across the teams - Curlew, Drake and Ylpea. One moment stands out above all others: Thomas Sørensen’s unforgettable fight for the SISU Tour general classification. Minutes deep in the red on flat terrain, a Strava KOM, and nearly two minutes clawed back on Nando.
A day he’ll never forget.
Eyes Forward
Looking ahead, Paweł’s goals are simple and very SISU.
Be active. In sport. In life. Show up prepared. Finish races happy with his form - especially in the ITT.
The SISU Club Championships in March are his first and most important goal of the year. New York’s futuristic roads may not be his favourite, but he’ll be there, focused and honest with his effort.
Classic kit? White jersey. Blue bibs.
Approach? Quiet. Relentless. True.
And when asked to finish the sentence:
“SISU Racing is…”
“…my life 😉”
And for Paweł Klamecki, that isn’t a slogan. It’s simply the truth. 💙
