Lukas Feth - Alpine Ambition: From the Bavarian Alps to the Front of the Peloton 🇩🇪

From a small village near the Bavarian Alps to the sharp end of elite Zwift racing, Lukas Feth represents everything powerful about the next generation of SISU Racing.

Born and raised in Dettendorf, 50km south of Munich, Lukas grew up surrounded by mountains. Skiing, climbing, bouldering — sport wasn’t optional, it was lifestyle. The mountains shaped him. And eventually, they revealed his strength.

Today, at U23 level, Lukas is one of SISU Racing’s most ambitious and disciplined young riders — a pure climber built for long efforts and high watts per kilo.

Mountains Built the Engine

“I can’t sprint,” Lukas says bluntly. “Short efforts? Not my strength.”

But give him a long climb, a threshold test, or a time trial?

That’s where he shines.

  • Strong w/kg numbers

  • Durable at sweet spot and threshold

  • Relentless to the finish line

  • Ambitious and structured

He rarely gives up. In fact, he expects a lot from himself.

Interestingly, despite living near the Alps, Lukas now rides almost exclusively indoors — logging less than 2,000 km outdoors last year out of a staggering 24,000 km total. Whether in his student dorm in Aschaffenburg (where he studies Business Administration and Law) or back home with a mountain view, his trainer is always ready.

He even travels with it.

“Never without Zwift.”

From Soccer to Setbacks to SISU

Lukas played soccer at a high level from age five. But undiagnosed celiac disease slowly damaged his body, forcing him to stop in 2021. The following years were physically and mentally challenging.

Then came another setback — a shoulder break from a bike park crash in 2023.

Nine months off.

But no quitting.

He bought a trainer and started Zwifting in December 2023.

By July 2024, he was racing seriously. By October, he was competing against SISU. Through those races — especially in ECRO and ZRL — he connected with SISU and found a team culture that resonated deeply.

Team First. Always.

Lukas is fiercely team-oriented.

“No excuses. You don’t let the team down.”

That mindset makes him a natural fit for:

  • WTRL TTTs (his favourite)

  • ZRL Division Lime

  • ECRO’s clean, high-level racing

He loves time trials because they reward discipline and sustained power — his wheelhouse.

And he thrives in strong, respectful pelotons where everyone pushes each other to the limit.

A Breakthrough Year

In 2024, just one year into structured training, Lukas finished in the top 1% of Zwift Academy.

He even received a personal message from Alpecin-Deceuninck.

It was a rejection.

But it was also validation.

For Lukas, that moment proved he belongs.

Lessons from Overtraining

Like many ambitious young athletes, Lukas once made the mistake of doing too much.

More volume.
More intensity.
Comparing himself to riders doing “more.”

It led to injury.

Now, his advice is clear:

“Don’t always compare yourself to others. Listen to your body. Increase slowly.”

Trust the process. Every setback is a setup for a comeback.

SISU Academy & Tactical Growth

As an inaugural member of the SISU Academy, Lukas is focused on sharpening his tactical awareness — one of the few areas he feels needs improvement.

He values having mentors and peers his age to talk through racing scenarios, mindset challenges, and development pathways.

He also understands something crucial:

Young riders often forget how far they’ve already come.

Recognition matters.

Encouragement matters.

Perspective matters.

Peak SISU: Club Championships

The SISU Club Championships are the first highlight of his season.

He’s targeting the iTT — no surprise.

New York’s technical courses suit him, though he jokes:

“Two minutes isn’t really a hill.”

Looking Ahead: 2026 Goals

Lukas’ big target?

Top 30 at the UCI eCycling Semi-Finals.

It’s ambitious.
It’s bold.
It’s very SISU.

Double vEveresting? Of Course.

In case you’re wondering about his capacity for suffering…

He completed two vEverestings on Ventoux within three months in 2024.

Just another day in the Alps.

SISU, Defined

When asked to finish the sentence:

“SISU Racing is…”

Lukas replied:

“When fun with great people meets sweat, watts and ends up being a sufferfest.”

From mountain kid to elite U23 climber.
From setbacks to top 1% on Zwift Academy.
From Dettendorf to the world stage.

Lukas Feth isn’t just climbing hills.

He’s climbing toward something much bigger.
