2026 ROAD RACE WORLD CHAMPIONS CROWNED
The 2026 SISU World Championships have reached the end of their second chapter, with the Road Race delivering everything we hoped for — tactics, attacks, suffering, sprint finishes and another collection of rainbow jerseys.
After the pure race against the clock of the opening Individual Time Trial, riders swapped pacing plans for race craft as they took on Bambino Fondo, Watopia across 26–27 September.
And now we have our Road Race World Champions.
Open World Champions 🌈
Across five grades, the racing produced a truly international collection of podiums.
A Grade saw Jan 🇲🇰 take the rainbow jersey ahead of Vladimir Golubev 🇷🇺 and Adam Harrier 🇺🇸.
In B Grade, Denmark's Preben Olsen 🇩🇰 claimed the world title, with Rod Leach 🏴 taking silver and Dylan Schubert 🇬🇧 bronze.
Chatty Pizza 🇺🇸 emerged as our C Grade World Champion, ahead of Sergio Palacio 🇨🇴 and Saul Metnick 🇺🇸, while the D Grade podium was an all-American affair with Dan Freve 🇺🇸 taking gold from Chad Zuleger 🇺🇸 and Granny Gear 🇺🇸.
In E Grade, Pepe Gonzalez 🇪🇸 claimed the rainbow jersey, joined on the podium by Mark Blanchard 🏴 and Connor Robertson 🇿🇦.
Women’s World Champions 🌈
There was more rainbow success in the Women’s Championships.
Sweden went one-two in B Grade, with Gabriella Nordin 🇸🇪 becoming World Champion ahead of compatriot Malin Rönnqvist 🇸🇪.
In C Grade, Anne Kupschus 🇩🇪 claimed the rainbow jersey, with iTT World Champion Kristen F-M 🇺🇸 adding a Road Race silver to her Montréal campaign and B Robertson 🇨🇦 completing the podium.
Congratulations to every one of our new World Champions and medallists — and to everyone who represented their country and threw themselves into the racing.
Two Down. One to Go.
While individual rainbow jerseys have been decided in the iTT and Road Race, another fascinating battle is developing.
The Overall World Championship Classification is taking shape.
Results from the opening iTT and Road Race have begun to separate the contenders, but nothing is decided yet. There is still one very different challenge standing between our riders and the overall title.
And it might be the toughest of them all.
The Gravel Championships — 10–11 October
The final chapter of Montréal 2026 heads off the tarmac and onto Handful of Gravel, Watopia — five laps.
Gravel brings a completely different dynamic. Riders who excelled against the clock or mastered the tactics of the road now have to prove they can do it again on very different terrain.
That makes the equation beautifully simple:
iTT + Road Race + Gravel = Overall World Champion.
Some riders will arrive on 10 October protecting a lead. Others will be chasing time and positions. And some may discover that the gravel discipline is exactly where their championship comes alive.
