Queen Stage
Sat 18 and Sun 19 July
This is the day everyone has been waiting for.
The day dreams are realised, ambitions are shattered, and legends are made.
Stage 5 is the Queen Stage of the 2026 SISU Tour and for the first time in SISU Tour history, riders will battle for glory on one of cycling's most iconic climbs — Alpe d'Huez.
After four stages of positioning, strategy and survival, the General Classification contenders finally come face-to-face with the ultimate test.
The road only goes one way - up!

Route Preview
Road to Sky is Zwift's most famous climbing route and finishes atop the legendary Alpe du Zwift, the virtual counterpart to Alpe d'Huez.
The route begins on the rolling roads of Watopia before riders pass through the Jungle and begin the long approach to the mountain. The opening kilometres provide little opportunity to recover as riders position themselves for what lies ahead.
Then the climb begins.
Twenty-one hairpin bends.
Over an hour of climbing for many riders.
And nowhere to hide.
Unlike previous stages where tactics, drafting and positioning have played major roles, Stage 5 is brutally simple. The strongest climbers will rise to the top.
The mountain always tells the truth.

Coaching Corner: Five Tips for Conquering the Alpe
1. Start easier than you think
Many riders lose the stage in the first five minutes of the climb. Ride within yourself and build into the effort.
2. Break the climb into sections
Twenty-one switchbacks can feel overwhelming. Focus on reaching the next turn rather than the summit.
3. Ride your numbers
The mountain rewards consistency. Large surges rarely pay off and often lead to spectacular implosions later.
4. Fuel before the climb
Once the Alpe begins, opportunities to eat and drink become limited. Start the climb well fuelled and hydrated.
5. Embrace the suffering
The Queen Stage is supposed to hurt. Everyone is suffering. The riders who manage discomfort best often produce their strongest performances.
What To Watch
Will the yellow jersey survive the mountain?
Can one of the pure climbers launch a successful attack and take control of the Tour?
How much time can be gained — or lost — before the second Individual Time Trial?
History suggests the biggest gaps of the Tour will emerge on Stage 5. Riders who have quietly conserved energy throughout the opening stages now have their chance to shine.
For some, this will be the ride of their Tour.
For others, it will simply be a matter of survival.
At the summit awaits more than a stage victory.
The Keltainen jersey.
Tour glory.
And a place in SISU Tour history.
The Queen Stage has arrived.
Let's go racing!
